Scout Spring Term 2019 Review

Our Scouts have had a very busy Spring Term full of fun activities and exciting adventures. We have got one of our Scouts, Katie, to tell us all about her favourite bits of the past 4 months.

PL & APL Takeover

In March, our Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders ran a night for the entire Troop. They played a large variety of games and a number of team building activities. Katie was one of the PL’s that ran the night.

My favourite game we played was the ‘Moo’ game. The idea of the game is simple. You have to Moo and run for as long as possible. Anna ran this game and all the Scouts loved it! My favourite team challenge was the rope walking challenge. The troop had to get in a circle, hold a piece of rope tight before one scout had to try and walk all the way round it!

Eurojam Selection Day

A number of our Scouts (including Katie) applied to go to Eurojam 2020, which is being held in Poland next year. They attended a selection day at Raywell this term and did a number of fun activities.

I really enjoyed making new friends with Scouts from all across the County. My favourite activity was either fire lighting (which our team did in under 10 minutes!) or the camp fire. We sung lots of songs and had a good laugh!

Inflata Nation

As the end of term treat our scouts got the chance to let off some energy at Inflata Nation in Flemingate.

I enjoyed Inflata Nation because I enjoy spending time with my Scout friends and we all had fun ‘fighting’ each other in the inflatable joust arena. Another bit I enjoyed was the ball pit as we had a massive ball pit war.

St George’s Activity Day

Our final event of the term was the Annual St George’s Activity Day at Beverley Racecourse. All of our sections joined Groups from Beverley & Hornsea, City of Hull and Blacktoft Beacon to have a fun filled morning of activites, before renewing our promise in the afternoon.

My favourite activity was the Archery. I wasn’t do that well but then I hit the gold! This year I also got to be standards bearer in the parade. Luckily, I didn’t drop the flag!
